Solar Eclipse 2017

I don’t know why, but I was interested in the eclipse, just not enough to make a huge deal out of it. Being a teacher at a school where we provided eclipse glasses, I had gotten so involved in telling the students how/when to wear the glasses and what NOT to do, I had forgotten that it was going to be a pretty neat event. Anyway, today my school district was closed, but since my allergies were killing me, I decided to watch the eclipse from my apartment complex. It was weird how eerie it was…the crickets started up and the sky looked ominous right before totality, but then all of a sudden, the sun was gone. It was SO COOL. Just looking at it during totality was amazing with the halo around the moon. The fact that it was dark at 1:30 in the afternoon was crazy. I took some quick pictures during totality, but I was too amazed to really focus on getting something amazing. The best part was seeing how excited everyone was about something, instead of being completely focused on all the hate and division that we see everywhere nowadays. I can only hope that it was a sign of good things to come. and behold, the best picture I got. šŸ˜‚
